Connection
Quilting has a universal appeal for women of all ages and in all walks of life. This is a great opportunity for you to make new friends, pursue a hobby that you’ve always wanted to learn or have time to do something that you already love to do. It’s a weekend away from the everyday stresses of life. We’ll have you relaxed and ready to take on the world again; to do what God has called you to do. It’s important to remember that taking time for yourself isn’t selfish! We need times of rest and rejuvenation in order to be our best. At this retreat, we’re promising a great program, inspiring devotional speaker, delicious food, prizes, lots of laughter and time to relax.
Time Out
Our God is the ultimate Creator, and we are made in His image. It’s no wonder that many of us were born with a longing to create beautiful things. We’re offering this “Time Out” to you to get away from it all and use your creative talents at the same time. You can quilt, knit, scrapbook or even read a book! Dig out those unfinished projects, pack them up and let’s get busy! If you’ve never quilted, this is the perfect time to learn! If you are an experienced quilter, you’ll enjoy this gorgeous project!
Our project for 2007 is “Meadow Lane” by Heather Mulder Peterson. |

|
It’s a fun, easy project that works with almost any fabric. This project is also suitable even if you’ve never made a quilt before. You can receive beginner instruction, if needed. You really can do it! You might consider going to your local quilt shop and having them help you pick out fabrics to accent your home. Or we can provide the pattern and fabric, if you prefer. The finished size is a twin (67” by 85”).
Our devotional speaker for this event will be Karen Martin from St. Cloud. She and her husband are Chi Alpha directors for St. Cloud State University. Prepare to be blessed by the message on "Contentment" that Karen will bring!
