ASIA PACIFIC - Jean Johnson
God
maneuvered my life as that of a photographer who maneuvers the
lens of the camera zooming in on the target. In other words,
God led me on a step by step journey until he prepared me to
live and work among a people's group know as the Khmer (Cambodian).
He exposed me to the existence of such a people's group in high
school. The plight of the Killing Fields sent 2-3 million Cambodians
to their death and thousands more to refugee camps in Thailand.
Those Cambodian refugees that were blessed enough to be sponsored,
found a home in various countries.
I began to wonder about life beyond America, as
many Cambodian refugees attended my high school.
This began God's guidance and forming of my life in regards
to missions, more specially Cambodia. God arranged 10 years of
relationships and ministry for me among the Cambodians of St.
Paul/Minneapolis. The journey continued over in the actual country
of Cambodia. Presently, I am entering my 8th year of life and
ministry in Cambodia. My ultimate ministry goal can be summed
up in these words: "to equip local Cambodian church planters
to
plant churches among their own people and build the capacity
of national churches to reproduce churches".
