Lee and Sandy Allison have served as AGWM missionaries to the CIS/Baltic Republics Area (former Soviet Union) since 1995.
From 2002 Lee has served as the Area Education Coordinator for the CIS and Baltics. More than 6,000 pastors are needed over the next five years to keep pace with current church growth. He works with national leaders, Bible schools, national pastors and fellow missionaries in 9 countries to develop resources and training for national pastors, missionaries and teachers across the former Soviet Union.
Sandy has developed a ministry to the elderly in Kiev, Ukraine known as "Light For The Lonely". Beginning in 2001, this outreach, in partnership with the local church, intentionally strives to present the gospel to elderly before they face eternity. This is accomplished through a twice weekly feeding and evangelism program, through building of a prototype Elderly Center/Hospice in Kiev and through the training of Mercy Ladies to provide care and evangelism to home-bound elderly. Her goal is to challenge the national church across the Area with the need to evangelize elderly while there is still time.
"For 70 years," Lee says, "this region was ruled by an anti-God government. Yet, this is where Christianity's roots go all the way back to the Apostle Andrew. The Pentecostal church in the CIS is rising in great faith and hope for the future. The key to the church's strength and advancement is a new generation of godly pastors, teachers and church leaders whom God can use to build on the incredible heritage of the past."
"I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, "Here am I, here am I." Isaiah 65:1
