LATIN AMERICA AND CARIBBEAN FIELD
Brad & Rhonda Walz

Dear Pastors, Friends and Partners;
Greetings from Argentina.
It has been a while since we wrote and we have a lot to update
you on.
1. It was historical. It was a spiritual earthquake. It was
a watershed. These were some of the comments concerning the first
ever all Latin American missions conference, which we helped
to organize, held in Guatemala March 12-16. It surpassed every
expectation. There were over 400 people from over 20 countries.
We had 12 Latin superintendents present. It was a powerful event,
in every way. Bridges were built. Vision was cast. The difficult
countries of the 10/40 window were made "accessible" to
the minds of many people, who before might have saw them as impossible.
The Holy Spirit did great things in that week.
The final service, with Holy Communion, was powerful as leaders
asked God's forgiveness for their indifference. Every speaker
was used by God to cast vision.
It will be featured in the May issue of the World Pentecostal
Evangel, that comes out the first week of the month. We thank
God for the dream, and His faithfulness in bringing the dream
to reality. I'm so thankful we could be together on this trip.
2. It was a honor to receive Rev. and Mrs. Bob Crabtree, the
Superintendent and his wife of Ohio District, for almost a week.
Their visit was a real blessing and honor. We visited several
churches, and they got to see the work "in action." Thanks
for your visit!
3. Our 10th annual School of Missions was held in Cordoba, Feb.
19-24. It was a great week, with another strong group of veterans
and candidates. Annointed preaching and teaching made it special.
Rocky Grams was our guest professor, and Larisa, his daughter,
again did a great job in the youth program. The Kinney's, Mark
and Pat, as always did a great job in the children's program.
We had 70
people in attendance.
After the school of missions finished, we received tragic news,
about an hour outside of Buenos Aires, on our cell phone. One
of the families, before returning to their home, had visited
a nearby tourist town, and on a public beach, with dozens of
people nearby, their 9 year old son tragically fell into a "hole" and
drowned before
they could find him. In one day we went from the mountaintop
to the valley. There are no easy answers on that one, but just
having to trust in God and uphold this precious family. The mom
said "It had been the greatest week of his life." (the
kid's program at school of missions is very special) We don't
understand, and look to God for strength in these situations.
4. Our church plant in the upper class neighborhood of San Isidro
started in January. It has gone predictably slow, but we walk
by faith. It is a area of the society that has not been penetrated
by the church, in any real concrete way. But we thank God for
opening doors and go forward in faith. We are praying about helping
out with two other church plants as well.
5. The Matthew and Amanda Report: Matthew and Amanda are doing
great in school, and are busy with activities. Amanda started
piano lessons. Matthew is playing little league baseball, even
though it is fall here. Amanda has translated material to teach
children in the new church.
6. Argentina, the country. Argentina has gone through incredible
unstability, the worst since 1989, as two economy ministers resigned
with 15 days of each other. They need the wisdom and mercy of
God, or years of progress in stability could go down the tubes.
As the Lord lays it on your heart, pray for Argentina's government
and stability, that God would do a miracle and what He wants.
7. Upcoming events: On March 29th Brad leaves for the Phillipines,
to lead a worldwide consultation on 2/3 world missions for the
Assemblies of God. There should be around 50 missions leaders
in attendance from all over the world, as we deal with practical
and philosophical issues involving this future movement and it's
growth. Thank you for your prayers for both Brad and the family
in that trip.
We thank you for your faithful support to us. We couldn't do
what we do without you! Thank you for your prayer support as
well, and our list of almost 50 who interceed for us in a special
way.
God bless you all!
Sincerely,
Brad & Rhonda Walz
